The BAPSC was launched in February 2006.

The formation of the association stemmed from the realisation amongst a number of leading UK private security firms that there was an urgent need to raise standards of operation and advocate self regulation.

The recent rapid growth in demand for private security services overseas has created an emergent industry. The directors of the association have been integral to the formation of the BAPSC from the outset.
